Will you celebrate with me? 🎉 I just got back the first episode of my podcast, edited and ready to air!
And while I was SO excited to send it off, when I got it back, I immediately started freaking out. I found myself procrastinating on inviting people to the launch team. Making decisions on the final art.
I asked myself, what the heck was going on?
When I did, I recognized this feeling in my body as...impostor syndrome! Self-doubt! Fear!
That’s right. The things I work with all of my clients on, I deal with too!
You might think (because I would if I was looking at it from the outside) that because I’ve been on over 100 podcasts and counting (including some top iTunes podcasts), I wouldn’t have self-doubt about launching my own. I know the process of being a guest from the inside out, I truly enjoy it AND it’s helped me make more income + impact than anything else I’ve done in my business.
🤔So, what did I do to keep moving and not let this weirdness in my head stop me?
I called myself out. I talked to my coach about it. I got back to my vision of WHY I’m doing the podcast and what I enjoy about it already (interviewing people, bringing insights, inspiration, and motivation to everyone who’s been part of the live studio audience as we’ve recorded the episodes). That feels good and fuels me to go forward.
And, in the midst of all of this, I realized that while launching my own podcast is an area of growth for me (simply because I’ve never done it before), there are other things that I am an expert on already (you have those things too, by the way).
For me, one of those things IS being a powerhouse podcast guest and helping others become the same.
