Be kind, for everyone you know is fighting a hard battle

❣️"Be kind, for everyone you know is fighting a hard battle." -Plato❣️

This is one of my favorite quotes EVAAAAA. I had it hanging on the door of my office when I was a professor and it always reminded me and the students who saw it that you never know what's really going on with other people, what they're carrying around or going through.

I remember my first trip to the grocery store after coming home from the hospital without Maeve. I walked around in a daze, thinking to myself, these people around me have no idea that my world has just been completely turned upside down.

And then I started wondering what they were all going through, and I had a completely new set of eyes and compassion for others.

On this business-building journey, being KIND is so key! IT helps you get amazing clients, it helps you build awesome relationships with colleagues and influencers, it opens doors you never imagined.

Do you agree? Is kindness one of your core values?

This is why I teach strategies and self-belief

“I know for sure that what we dwell on is who we become.”— Oprah Winfrey

There are so many versions of this quote, and this idea has been around for a looooong time, like, since King Solomon--->"As a man thinketh, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7), and that dude was wise. ;)

This is why I talk so much about the importance of mindset. When I got started in business, I believed it was alllll about hard work and I see that idea perpetuated with people who believe it's all about hard work, hustle and grind.

But what I know for sure now is that it's always about BOTH.

It's why I teach simple strategies AND self-belief, because THAT combo is what's going to help you replace your income & create a business that truly feels like passion and freedom, rather than just re-creating the "hard work" feeling of being in a 9-5.

How about you? Do you do mindset work as part of business-building? What does that look like for you? Or is this something you're open to starting?

Make a decision and then figure out the HOW'S as you go along

“You may have heard stories about people who had these major breakthroughs when the 💩 really hit the fan... But you don’t have to wait until you hit rock bottom to start crawling out of your hole. All you have to do is make the decision. And you can make it right now.”
— Jen Sincero, You Are A Badass

👉Maybe you heard my story about losing Maeve and thought, well I haven't had any tragedy in my life or a big turning point.

👉Maybe you have survived your own tragedy but your story is that because of that tragedy, you can't have what you want--replacing your income, quitting your 9-5, living a life of freedom on your own terms.

What I love about this quote is its simplicity and clarity--you know I love me those things :).

You can make a decision right now and THEN you can figure out the hows as you go along!

How does it feel to know that? Have you already made the decision, or are you making it now?

Everything works out the way it's supposed to

I remember the call from my mom, 17 years ago.

She called to tell me that I was the same age as she was when she'd gotten married, 10 days before her 20th bday, and asked me, "Can you imagine that?" 😲

At the time I actually could, because that's what I'd heard my whole life, and that's the picture I'd had painted for me (and I had the PERFECT guy to do it with and I was in LOOOOVE). I was jealous and wondering why that wasn't happening for ME because it seemed to be the perfect, dream life for me at the time! That was what I sought to create at the time because it was normal, safe.

But ohhhh myyyyy...that life is a far cry from what my life is now, a far cry from what I'd want it to be!

One of my affirmations is "Everything works out perfectly for me." And I love the Tony Robbins quote, "Life is happening FOR you, not TO you."

I'm so grateful for the life I have today and for the heartbreak I experienced to get me here.

You see, I championed that boyfriend's dreams, content to be the woman behind the man at that time (I even coached him later to quit his 9-5 and start his own company; one of my early success stories 😂. He's still running that successful business today.)

I would NOT be running Life With Passion if we were together. I would not be pursuing my dreams, living in my Zone of Genius, and helping women around the world to do the same, if I'd gotten what my 19-year-old self thought she needed.

And so I'm grateful because I can see in hindsight how everything was working out perfectly for me.

Can you relate to this? What seemed really hard at the time in your life but turned out to be a big ole' blessing?

Do you beat yourself up for not being better?

What the heck do you do when you KNOW you’re the one who’s holding yourself back? I’ve so been there, and so have many of my clients, and here’s what works (and what doesn’t) to move through this oh-so-common issue:

Let’s first talk about what NOT to do, and that’s what most of us high-achievers do...beat ourselves up for not being better.

Instead, CONGRATULATE yourself because now you know exactly what you need to work on to grow your business! YAY CLARITY! This awareness is actually a super-powerful thing, so WAY TO GO, YOU!!!

Because like I always say, “When the mindset is strong, the strategy is simple,” and so now, we know that the place to focus is on strengthening your mindset (rather than telling yourself that everyone has a better plan than you and going into the black hole of opting in to everyone else’s stuff or comparing yourself to everyone else or your own particular version of this ;)

Now what?

Well, ask yourself what it is that you most need to help you move past it.

👉Is it journaling it out for even just 5 minutes, to ask yourself what’s going on and see what answers you come up with?

👉Is it taking a day OFF from your business to get some fresh perspective, rest and clear your head?

👉Is it getting the support of a mentor or coach who specializes in helping you overcome self-doubt and fear, and gain confidence in yourself?

Those are a few suggestions to break you out of the cycle of pressure and stress so that you can begin to get some clarity around here, and move forward from that place!

Because what I can tell you for SURE is that your business grows quickly and in ways that feel like magic when you do what it takes to get your mindset strong and take action from that place of possibility.

How about you? Can you relate? Will you try one of the suggestions above or do you have one that YOU’VE used successfully?

If you are so ready to dive into the exact steps you need to get out of that soul-sucking job once and for all, grab my bestselling book where I lay it all out for you! The Income Replacement Formula: Seven Simple Steps To Doing What You Love And Making Six Figures From Anywhere is available on Amazon, Audible and iTunes.

Do you have enough time and energy for your business?

Find yourself saying this? “I have trouble having enough time and energy for my business.”

It’s a super-common frustration, especially when we’re building our businesses on the side of full-time jobs and/or busy lives!

But, instead of telling you something like, “We all have the same number of hours in the day, so you can do it too,” (which might be encouraging or, depending on your mindset, depressing), I’d like to offer you an insight as to what might ACTUALLY be going on instead, and that is that…

You don’t know exactly what to do in your business each day to move it forward, so you have this vague feeling of “there’s not enough time or energy,” because you don’t even know exactly how much time or energy you even need!

Example #1: If I told you all you needed to do to start to grow your business was make a post on Facebook or Insta one time a day (which is actually a GREAT start and if you’re not doing it, I highly recommend that you do), and then respond to comments or messages you’ve gotten in the last 24 hours, how long does that take?

Answer: If you know what you want to say, 15 minutes, tops. However, if you don’t know what you want to say, or who you’re talking to, or how to provide value to them, or what you’re offering or HOW to offer it, then this feels like way too big of a thing to do, and it FEELS like you don’t have enough time or energy, when in reality, it’s likely just that you’re lacking clarity and confidence, both of which can be achieved really quickly when you’re strategic about them.

Example #2 that I see keeping people stuck around this topic: They don’t know when they’d actually work with (or do work for) paying clients. If you haven’t figured out where your clients are going to fit into your busy life, then guess what? They WON’T fit in, and you won’t be moving daily toward getting them.

So take a look at your calendar and decide, where would I love to have those paying clients? Which hours (whether it’s lunch time, or evenings, or weekends--and I’ve used all of these at various times when I was side-hustling, as do my clients) feels like the best place for me to complete that work?

Schedule those hours on your calendar (even if it’s just 1 per week!) and then during that hour, get visible online and/or reach out to potential clients or customers UNTIL you have someone in that spot, paying you.

Does that make sense? Is this something you find yourself saying, and if so, what questions or intentions do you have to change it? Or is it something that you USED to say, and if so, share your wisdom with us on how you moved through it!

Feeling overwhelmed? What to do about it.

Do you ever feel like this? “There are so many things I could do that I don't plan out what to work on and then I don't work on anything.”

This is the mindset of someone who’s overwhelmed! (Are you like, “DUH, Christine. Thanks, Captain Obvious!”?)

What do we do about it? Well, if we take a breath and take a step back from opting in to everything that looks like a shiny object (one of my clients recently made it a verb, i.e. “she’s TOTALLY shiny-objecting”), looking around at what everyone else is doing (comparison-itis / FOMO), or beating ourselves up to MAKE ourselves do something (i.e. “I SHOULD be farther along now. What’s wrong with you, Christine, why can’t you just write a freaking Facebook post already?!?”), we can recognize that these things are all rooted in FEAR, not in faith.

They’re all rooted in pressure, not possibility.

What I see OVER and OVER and OOOOOOOOOVER with my clients is that when they stop asking “What else SHOULD I be doing?” and ask, “What would be the most joyful and FUN way to my next clients?,” and act on THAT one SIMPLE answer (instead of nothing because it all feels like too much), that’s when their businesses start to flow.

It totally sounds counter-intuitive to our high-achieving, take-all-the-action-we-can brains, I know, but if you lead with fun and joy, and take simple, consistent action from that place, you get better results--meaning you replace your income (and then some) even faster than you would have by hustling, stressing, and striving. Every. Time.

Have you experienced this for yourself? Or is it a shift you want to try making?

Cool girls can be nice too.

Cool girls can be nice too.

When I walked into the Glow Getter Gala alone, wearing sweats and no makeup, I was immediately greeted with a room full of GORGEOUS models in hair and makeup.

And can I be a little vulnerable with you, ladies? I wanted to turn and run back out. They all knew each other, were chatting excitedly, and looked STUNNING, and it brought me back to my days of feeling super-plain and being the “nice” girl, never the pretty (much less “hot”) one.

And even though the event was being put on to honor me and the other 2 Glow Getters, I still felt completely out of place with all of these models and beauty queens.

There was no cell phone reception at this venue, so while I waited for a makeup artist to become available, I sat awkwardly on a couch by myself, reading an e-book and praying that one of the other 2 honorees would show up soon.

Why do I share this kinda painful story with you? Because from the outside, when my hair and makeup finally got done and I put on THAT dress and posed for pics around the venue that looks like a European castle (#dream), spoke on a stage to a room full of influencers, and received a big donation to my non-profit, everything seemed effortless.

But we ALL carry those stories with us that pop up from time to time when we least expect them, and we can choose to either let them determine our future, or we can write a different one for ourselves.

I sucked it up and decided to make myself some friends with these cool, beautiful perfect-looking girls :). I decided despite my major adolescent and young adult insecurities that I would strengthen my confidence muscle and do the thing that scared and intimidated me. And then I toasted myself with a little bubbly (and brought my new friends some, too, though I didn’t tell them why ;).

It’s the exact same in business-building and income-replacing. We allllllll have these stories, most of them rooted in our youuuuuths, where we believed totally irrational things about ourselves and what was/is possible.

What’s one story you’ve noticed for yourself or that you’ve worked on shedding because it doesn’t help you get where you want to be in your life & business?

Do you feel worthy?

Have you ever thought about the word "worthy?"

I think a lot of times, we high-achievers also suffer from an underlying belief that we're not worthy of making the kind of money we want, of replacing our incomes, of quitting our jobs, like, "Who am I to do this?"

Can you relate?

The word worthy, when you break it down, is WORTH-y. And of course, "worth" can have a lot of different meanings, like self-worth and net worth, both of which are usually things that are important to increase as we build a successful business, right?

Often, increasing our self-worth and believing that we are WORTH-y of receiving money helps us to increase our net worth, wherever we are on the journey.

What do you think about this? Have you found this to be true, or is it something you feel like you want to explore?

Have you ever heard the saying, "New level, new devil?"

Have you ever heard the saying, "New level, new devil?"

While that might be true, I think there's a ton of truth to the saying "new level, same devil!"

Whether thinking about starting a side business, quitting a job, replacing your income, or scaling beyond it, we tend to have the same patterns show up at each new level--fear, procrastination, overwhelm, avoidance, control issues...

For me, money beliefs are SO key, and the same negative ones keep cropping up at each new level (sometimes cleverly disguised for me to THINK I'm dealing with something new, but really, it's the same old ).

Our choice is that we can either make ourselves wrong for not having "fixed" our mindset yet, or welcome the work that's popping up for us to clear so that we can take our business to that next level, that next goal!

How about for you? What beliefs have you noticed stubbornly showing up and resisting being cleared, and how do you move through them?

We are allowed to teach what we need to learn, but only teach what you've already done.

"We always teach what we need to learn."

Recently I've been having a lot of conversations with clients who are giving themselves a hard time for not perfectly doing the thing they help others to do.

So, for instance, someone might:

☑️find themselves stressing when they help others to release anxiety
☑️check Facebook or their email a million times during the day when they help their clients to be more productive
☑️be working a TON of hours when their brand is that they work part-time

Whatever the thing is, it's important to remember that we ALWAYS teach what we need to learn.

It's just that, if you're doing it right, you're at a higher level of learning than the clients you support, so you're re-learning that lesson as you advance.

As I made my the final edits to my book, it was really interesting for me to re-read all of the strategies and ways I help clients move through procrastination, fear and overwhelm to replace their incomes and quit their jobs.

Because, confession: I dealt with A LOT of these same things while writing the book.

Did it mean I wasn't qualified to help my clients or that they didn't get great results? No.

What it meant was, I was going to a whole new level in my life and business, and as a result, my old default patterns of managing stress popped back up.

What did I do about it? I made sure my own support was rock-solid so that I wouldn't self-sabotage, and I moved through it!

Now, I'll be able to help my clients write & launch their own books, if they desire, because it's something I've actually done.

Make sense?

We're ALLOWED to be teaching what we need to learn, but the important distinction is to only teach what you've already done, as well.

What questions do you have about this? Or is this something you can take a deep breath, take off the pressure, and give yourself more permission around?

Where there's a will, there's a way!

“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” — Jim Rohn

Do you agree?

When it comes to quitting your job, finding a way to make money doing what you love, replacing your income, and really, any big goals you have for your life, it comes down to this quote.

👉If you find your head filled with reasons why not, those are excuses.

👉If you find your head filled with reasons why, you're on the path to finding your way.

With EVERY big thing I've done in my life that people said couldn't be done, whether:

✅ Building a 6-figure horse business in my 20s on a teacher's salary
✅ Quitting my job and replacing my income in the first month
✅ Working at the Olympics 3 times
✅ Quickly building Life With Passion from scratch to 6-figures
✅ Writing a book while working part-time and raising a baby

When you make a no-nonsense decision to move past your excuses and just get about doing it already, miracles happens.

I see this all the time with my clients, too. They show up with courage and conviction that they're meant for their dreams, and our work together puts the clarity and strategy in place for them to book their own high-level clients, live in their dream locations, and make leaps they only dreamed of.

Do you agree with this quote? Where have you seen it to be true in your own life? Or what tips do you have to share with us about this belief?

Do you have doubters in your life?

Do you ever have any of these thoughts?

➡️My friends think I'm crazy, they still don't get my business or what I do.

➡️Replacing my income would be sooooo much easier if my husband wasn't so negative about what I'm trying to do.

➡️I know I could succeed if my family didn't drag me down.

You're not alone, my friend; I've been there myself and I hear these very same things from other high-achievers every week.

Imagine this:
You're standing on top of a table. You're way up there because you're different: you want a better life, to replace your income, travel without having to take vacation days, make more than enough to take care yourself and your family, not have to wait for retirement to enjoy your life.

And the people you're surrounded with in your daily life, those ones who are committed to the status quo, to "playing it safe" as employees, are figuratively either sitting in chairs around the table or down on the ground around you.

Just imagine--is it easier for you to pull them up to where you are, or for them to reach up and pull you down with their negativity? You know the answer because you live it, right? Their "practical" advice drags you down.

It's easy to spend a lot of time stressing about the fact that our spouse or significant other are not supportive, and sometimes we even use it as an excuse, like, "If I only had someone who really believed in my dream, I could do this."

But that keeps us stuck exactly where we are.

I don't care what your situation, whether it's that you have 1 negative voice in your life or 100--you can STILL be successful. It starts with you deciding what you want and what you're going to do and finding people to bring into your life that support you and are on the same journey.

You've probably heard that you're the average of the five people you spend the most time with (Jim Rohn). And if you have, maybe like me, freaked out because you wonder, am I going to have to ditch my closest relationships in order to be successful?

I'm not telling you to do that by ANY means. What I'm recommending you do instead is add some new, positive people in.

If you're not where you want to be, it's not your partner's fault. I would venture to say that you haven't made your mind up yet that this is a non-negotiable and that you're going to figure out a way to do it.

People don't get it bc they're not in it. They don't have the authority to speak into your life that way ON THIS SUBJECT. As Darren Hardy says, if they're not someone you'd trade places with, don't listen to their advice!

Just like you wouldn't listen to someone whose love life was a train wreck on how to find your soul mate, it's not helpful to listen to someone who's bought into the corporate employee life when you're growing your business. Find those people who are on the same path as you, who can lift you up. Find people who've been there and done it and learn how they did it. You're already here, so that's a great start!

Have you experienced these doubters before or are you dealing with them now?

Content re-purposing strategy

Content re-purposing idea to make the most of limited time:

Go back to your old journals and use what you wrote!

This is GENIUS because it does 2 things:

1. Connects you to who you used to be, who is probably a lot more similar to your ideal client than who you currently are

2. Uses content you've already created when you were feeling inspired or in flow--you'll surprise yourself with how good that content is!

Is this a strategy you've used, or is it something you're going to incorporate?

What thoughts could you choose to improve that would make you happier?

“Remember happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have, it depends solely on what you think.” — Dale Carnegie️

Even if you're still struggling to build your business to replace your income, you're in a 9-5 you hate, or both, you can choose to think better thoughts RIGHT NOW.

Those thoughts will support your progress, move you more quickly toward your goals, AND help you enjoy the process!

What thoughts could you choose to improve that would make you happier, or what ones have you already upgraded to support your dreams?

Things to be grateful for while still in your 9-5.

If you're still in a 9-5 job and aren't living your dream, my encouragement to you today is to look for ways to be grateful for the opportunities you have there.

Network with colleagues and start making a list of those who might be ideal clients for you!

Take advantage of lunch breaks to work on your side hustle :)

Find things to be grateful for, like:

✅You're in a job and you can make a plan and build that side hustle while you're still getting that paycheck.
✅Every day, you're learning more and more about how to be a successful business owner, and about what you don't want to do and what you do!
✅You can start developing the mindset of an entrepreneur before you dive in full-time, so there will be less of a stressful transition when you do!

What else can you find to be grateful for about your 9-5, or how did you view it before you quit?

Forgiving yourself is one of the most powerful forces in your life.

“Guilt, shame and self-criticism are some of the most destructive forces in your life, which is why forgiving yourself is one of the most powerful.” — Jen Sincero

Living out of a place of beating yourself up, being hard on yourself and telling yourself it's never enough is NOT the way to replace your income & quit the 9-5 grind for good.

Releasing the pressure, connecting to your dreams and your passions, and taking aligned action from that excited place IS.

Have you found this to be true on your journey?

What's one reason you believe you're here on this amazing planet?

Copy of path-in-woods-unsplash-zack-silver-49053.jpg

“There are 2 great days in a person’s life—the day we are born and the day we discover why!” — William Barclay

I love this. Certainly all of us have many reasons why we were born, but the more we identify and connect to them, the more likely we are to spend more time in service of them!

What's one reason you believe you're here on this amazing planet, breathing and alive, in this time?

I believe a HUGE part of my why is to empower women to go from surviving to thriving, from feeling like victims to KNOWING we are volunteers with the ability to create our destinies!

NO MATTER WHAT you've been through or what you're facing, YOU have the ability to create exactly what you desire in your business.

"What lies behind you & what lies in front of you pales in comparison to what lies INSIDE of you." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I've loved this quote since my last semester of college, when my sister pasted it at the bottom of a photo frame with a picture she'd taken of me like this one, when I was studying abroad at Oxford.

It was a lifelong dream come true to study there, but I'd also just broken up with my first love, the guy I spent years believing I would marry, because he didn't want to marry me. I was getting ready to graduate, without a plan, without a partner, so different than what I'd expected or dreamed of.

This quote applies to SO MANY other areas of life, too, including business-building.

NO MATTER WHAT you've been through and NO MATTER WHAT you're facing, YOU have the ability to create exactly what you desire in your business:

❤️ A booked-out practice full of clients you love
❤️ A 6-figure business
❤️ Working part-time and having tons of time for your family, fur and human
❤️ Making a difference in THOUSANDS of lives
❤️ Giving away real, life-changing money to causes you care about

NO MATTER WHAT. If I can do it, so can you.

Do you believe it?
