I just witnessed a miracle (not just this backyard sky!).

I witnessed the birth of a new business, of the infinite possibilities, of that moment in a person's mind when all the dots of their life connect and she realizes, "THIS is what I've been prepared for. People need me to do THIS. It's totally possible for me, and it's so obvious--this is what I'm meant for!!!"

Of one's calling, Frederick Buechner said,

“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”

My deep gladness, one that brings me to the edge of tears (and I normally only cry about Maeve and at movies, so this is a big deal), is identifying and walking out the process of self-discovery with a client.

It so often begins with some version of "I have big dreams, but...."

  • I don't have anything to offer that people would pay me for.
  • I'm too old.
  • I'm too young.
  • Everyone knows you can't make money in [fill-in-your-blank] industry or [fill-in-your-blank] town.
  • Someone else is already doing it, and they started before me.
  • I'm too behind.
  • I don't know enough/the next steps/how to build a business.
  • I always start something and then stop.
  • I'm scared.
  • I don't have enough time.
  • I don't have the money.

And yet, there is a deep part of that woman who, despite her fear and doubt, has the courage to try, now-or-never, and take a stand for her dreams.

She vulnerably reaches out to me via email, perhaps with shaking hands, perhaps feeling like she's going to throw up, and she trusts me with her fragile dreams, trusts me not to laugh at her, trusts me to encourage, support, challenge, and see the truth of who she is.

She trusts me, and she re-discovers her true self and begins again to explore the possibilities of life on her terms.

The business is not the end-all; it's the vehicle to get her there. It provides her with the means and the tools to have the influence and life she wants for herself, her family, and those she will serve, both as clients and in the many ways she'll give back when she can, because that's part of her character.

This work I do is TRANSFORMATIONAL. It's a privilege and an honor and the women I work with...well, they're the ones who will run the world and provide the kinds of difference we all dream of making. Don't we want them to be the influencers, these powerful, capable, high-achievers who will do so much good?

They are the rising tide that will raise the ships of passionate, like-minded women everywhere.

All my visibility, all the success I talk about, it's not to brag. It's all for you. To inspire you, to encourage you, to motivate you along your journey. It's my responsibility as part of my calling, and I take it seriously.

To my clients, past, present, and future, I love you all. Thank you for inspiring me and allowing me to support you on your journey.

Lots of Love,

Christine
