Continuing to "hustle" is not the thing that’s ultimately going to bring us joy and satisfaction in life.

“Be the hardest worker.”

You hear this growing up in school, sports, internships, etc. And when we start our own businesses we think the same thing is true.

But not for people like us. I think our society very much has a "work hard to achieve, work hard to receive" mentality and this mindset has really permeated the entrepreneurial spaces. Those of us who are high-achievers already know all about hard work, and we need to learn a better way. Working harder is not the lesson we need to learn; otherwise we’d have it already.

As high-achieving, (recovering) perfectionists, we need to learn to let go, to relax, to enjoy--you know, all those things that make me twitch a little bit 😂. Continuing to "hustle" is not the thing that’s ultimately going to bring us joy and satisfaction in life.

So "working hard?" That's not our lesson. That’s not the thing that’s going to help us grow our businesses to be a success.

Do you agree or disagree with this mindset?
